The project was called `Limmat` which is a swift river near the art school.
The area we had to work on was restricted. In addition we had to choose
different working tools such as drawings, sketches, 3-d and photography.
I also decided for a particular starting point which was a park. First I
started taking notes ( written words which were distributed everywhere)
and collecting things I found. I eventually worked on wilted and crumpled
leaves I collected in the park. I was totally fascinated by the volume and
tough tension contained within the leaves surface. Soon I started to simplify
the leaf structure until there was no lamina but only the mid ribs and veins
I painted huge pictures ( about 50 x 80 cm) of the leaves which I showed
during the exhibition on a wall. In addition I created some gypsum models
which I exhibited with my notes.
